Express Payment recording
One of the powerful features of BRM is that is doesn't just track your bikes and your reservations, but also any payments made against these reservations throughout the course of their lifecycle.
Furthermore, BRM understands that payments are often (but not always) associated with changes in the stage of a reservation. For example, when you progress a reservation from provisional -> confirmed it's normally because you've received a booking deposit. BRM will prompt you automatically to record any payment at this stage.
Similarly, when you check out a reservation it's normal to expect full payment. Again BRM will prompt you to record any such payment at this stage. (again not mandatory)
With the Express Payment feature you can now record these payments even faster.
In your Systems Settings (system-view configuration) you can restrict the types of payment to only those payments that you actually accept. This makes the job of selecting from the drop-down faster. If there are any payments specifed on the right hand side, only those ones will be available. (if you haven't selected any then you will continue to see the entire list)
Additionally you can choose to default to 'Express Payments'. This will simply show a panel with your top 4 payment types. You don't even have to click, you can simply use the keyboard for speed, if you prefer.
To set this up. First of all select the checkbox 'default to: Express Payment"
Then select your payment types, by pulling across from the left to the right:
Now when you 'progress reservation' BRM will display 4 large buttons with your top 4 payment types. (of course if you happen to process a payment outside your top 4 you can always press the 'custom tab' and process the payment in the old way by selecting from the drop-down)
The idea is it speeds up payment capture, and makes it less error-prone.
