  1. have booking ID's to match the date of the booking

    It would be nice to have Booking ID's match up with the date the booking is made to be more easily understandable for customers and staff. The current format can be confusing at times to the rental customer.

  2. make it optional to display extras at Product Line stage

    Imagine the following scenario. You are using HIVO mode. You have lots of extras. Customers frequently book 4 bikes and some extras. But when you select extras for 4 bikes it multiplies your choices across all 4 bikes. It might make more sense to not display the options until the 'shopping cart' stage of the online booking.

  3. extra's that behave like inventory (and track stock levels)

    It would be a great feature to have Extras (e.g. pedals etc) that track inventory levels. In other words, they would behave like extras - in that they are added to other inventory, but they would also track inventory levels.

  5. Deep link direct to a product (product line)

    It would be great (for catalogue based websites) if you could deep-link directly into a product (product line) from a product image 'book now' link / button.

  6. Add role solely for reporting

    We are a large company with dedicated ecommerce and marketing teams. These teams would like to have access to BRM reporting and the ability to view graphs, etc. However, currently there is not reporting specific role. In order to give them the access they need to do their job they are also able to edit live inventory which is something we do not want to allow. Please add a reporting specific role!

  10. Retail-lite

    Many renters also do 'limited retail' like selling snacks, accessories etc.
    Could BRM / RSM be extended to accommodate selling a small range of goods alongside rental?

  11. Charge clients in multiple currencies

  12. ability to MERGE client records

    If a duplicate client account does get created
    (e.g. made online on BRM - but customer already exists in Lightspeed)
    we need to support a merge of records, which updates LS & BRM with the merge.

  13. Optimize and safe time

    when 1 person wants to reserve several sizes of bike at a given time ... It is essential to have a window that indicates all the sizes available at this time. Currently, it's hell because if you arrive at the last bike and it is not available, you must start another hour / day and so on ... the customers simply give up!

  14. Recurring Rental Billing

    We have people who rent an item for 9 months or more with a monthly billing rate. It would be awesome to have the system automatically bill the individual on a set day of the month.

  16. create a bike return time option instead of duration hours

    We experience people holding exactly to the minute how long they keep the bike. We would like them to understand the bike needs to be returned by a specific time, say 5pm instead of a duration of time.

  18. create an API for BRM

    We are considering creating an API for BRM
    (we may perhaps use zapier.com too)
    please give us your ideas for use cases, here are some of ours:

    • import reservations from external systems
    • import clients from external systems
    • export reservations to google calendar
    • send an SMS when problems occur - late rentals, broken bikes etc
    • send SMS when reservations due back
    • export customers to mailchimp or similar

  20. Provide upselling messages in BRM so staff can be prompted at key stages of the sales process

    As the staff member is creating the rental ticket, popup reminder messages at key stages such as
    "Would you like a water bottle, map, gel bar etc?"
