download as pdf

scenario description:

Finding an existing reservation for a customer coming in to get their bike. Checking out the bike.

scenario overview:

  1. find the customer's reservation
  2. check out the bike(s) - recording payment along the way

detailed scenario instructions:

1. Find the customer's reservation on the find Reservations Page.  There are a number of ways to do this, but in this example we're pressing on the 'new button' which brings back a list of all reservations made in the last day. (it shows them in the panel below - the Reservation List Panel)

2. Then we simply click on the reservation we're interested in, in this case "Stoddart".

when you click on a reservation in the Reservation List Panel it will bring up the detail of that reservation in the Reservation Detail Panel:

:

1. Click on the 'next stage' button highlighted above.*  This will advance your reservation to the next stage of its lifecycle more details about stages here
when you go to the next stage, BRM automatically checks to see if any money is owing on the rental.  By default it will ask for at least 20% of the booking to be paid when going from provisional to confirmed. But you can enter the full amount.

* N.B. the next stage button also shows you the current stage that the reservation is in.  For example in the above image, its 'provisional' so it says 'provisional next stage' on the button text.

2.Take payment using whatever mechanism you normally use (PDQ / check / cash etc) and record the transaction in BRM.  In the above example the customer paid 81, CASH.

3. then press the okay button.  This will record the payment in the transaction history for the reservation, and advance to the confirmed stage.

Now we want to advance to CONFIRMED, so press the next Stage button again.  You will be asked to allocate your bikes:

4. pick a specific bike that you're going to give to the customer (from the drop down of available bikes for that type)

5. now press OK to check out that specific bike(s) and mark the reservation as checked out.
