Problem solving - why can't I update the status of my bike?

Some status updates are automatic.  For example when you check out a reservation, all the bikes in the reservation have their status changed to 'checked-out'

However, sometimes you will want to manually update the status of a bike.  For example when you sell it.
read this article for an explanation on how you do this.

But you may find that you can't change the status of a broken bike to ready.  This is because its not allowed from the Asset Management window. (this is because we like to record a service against a broken bike to maintain a service history)

However you can do it by simply recording a service against the bike, details of which can be found here 

N.B. BRM never updates the status of any assets FROM the spreadsheet - the 'status' column in the spreadsheet is simply FEEDBACK from the BRM->spreadsheet, and never goes from spreadsheet->BRM
