What if I lose internet connectivity?


So, BRM runs in the cloud, what does that mean if you lose connection to the internet?


The short answer is that you can't use BRM, so you need to make sure your business has a contingency plan to operate with no network, such as paper-based rental contracts.

However, in reality - as long as you operate in area with reliable internet - this is unlikely and the risk can be mitigated with the following steps:
  1. connect to BRM over a 3G or 4G network.  To do this you can use an iPad or mobile-connected laptop.
  2. if you're running a large operation you might want to consider subscribing to a second ISP so that you could switch over in the event of a failure with your primary supplier.
One potential future development feature is to request to be emailed a snapshot of the next day's reservations each night, to an offline email account (i.e. one that is downloaded instantly to your computer - not GMAIL).
