I've updated my inventory, can I just send you a new spreadsheet?

Q.
I've updated my fleet can I just send you a new spreadsheet?
A. NO!!

Q. Why not?
A.  because when we setup your BRM / RSM initially we imported your inventory.  That inventory becomes your master copy, and lives in your special system spreadsheet (a google sheet) that is magically linked to your store in BRM / RSM.  The system keeps your inventory in sync with that spreadsheet.

Imagine you now give us a new spreadsheet.
How do we know which items are the same, which are new, and which are to be archived?
it was is known technically as a 'complete nightmare'.  well maybe not. But you get the point.

see this diagram:

The only way to resolve it is to go through the existing and new spreadsheet line by line and try to match up old and new data, and painstakingly merge the records.

BUT all this can be avoided!!

when an inventory change happens just do it directly in your system spreadsheet - there is a handy link to it from your system
